Start with safe basic checks
Keep the doors closed as much as possible and move highly perishable food to another cold source. Food safety matters more than testing the appliance repeatedly.
Step 2
Confirm the power socket works, the temperature control has not been changed and air vents inside the cabinet are not blocked by containers.
Step 3
Listen for unusual clicking, continuous running or a fan scraping against ice. These symptoms help a technician narrow the diagnosis, but the rear electrical area should remain closed.
When to book a technician
A freezer that is cold while the fresh-food section is warm can indicate an airflow or defrost problem. Book service if normal cooling does not return after basic checks.
Disconnect power where the manufacturer instructs. Do not open sealed electrical or refrigerant systems without proper training.
